HYDROQUANT® New Generation Reagents for Karl Fischer Titration.

Biosolve developed new set of reagents free of Carcinogenic, Mutagenic & Reprotoxic (CMR) substances designed for the Karl Fischer titrations.

Karl Fischer reaction depends on the pH of the media, and many Karl Fischer reagents contain buffer-based imidazole to ensure a stable pH media.  However, in 2015 imidazole was classified as a CMR substance. Instead of imidazole, an alternative base has been used with our new HYDROQUANT® NEW GENERATION reagents.

In addition, many substances like ketone substances and lithium-ion battery (LiB) electrolytes or those contain additives like VC, FEC and borates undergo side reactions with alcohols in common Karl Fischer reagents. These side reactions may lead to increased drift, delayed endpoints, incorrect water content results, or even make water determination impossible.

HYDROQUANT®NewGen Coulometry A-FA and HYDROQUANT®NewGen Coulometry C-FA are coulometric reagents especially designed for ketone sensitive substances and lithium-ion battery (LiB) electrolytes. These coulometric reagents preferred for cells with diaphragm, are acetonitrile based, completely non-alcoholic and free of CMR substances.

HYDROQUANT®NewGen Coulometry AG-FI is an anolyte for general use in coulometric Karl Fischer titrations, designed for cells with or without diaphragm, Methanol-based free of Imidazole and CMR substances.

HYDROQUANT®NewGen Solvent FI is a solvent media for volumetric two-component Karl Fischer titrations, Methanol-based free of Imidazole and CMR substances, to be used with HYDROQUANT®Titrant 5, 2 or 1.

HYDROQUANT®NewGen Solvent E-FI is a solvent for volumetric two-component Karl Fischer titrations, Ethanol-based free of Imidazole and CMR substances, to be used with HYDROQUANT®Titrant 5E or 2E.
